From A75: head towards Stranraer.  After Castle Kennedy and just before 30mph limit for Stranraer take left onto Commerce Road.

From A77:  head towards Stranraer, turn left onto A751 (A75) Dumfries, then at next junction turn right onto A75 towards Stranraer, follow road and just before 30mph limit for Stranraer take left onto Commerce Road.

At next roundabout (A77 Stoneykirk Road) turn right, past Lidl on left, over next roundabout then first left into Belmont Road (not marked). Continue approx. 1/2m through houses. Immediately after sharp left hand bend turn right, signposted to Portpatrick; this road is sometimes referred to as the Old Military Road (or Old Port Road). On reaching brow of hill where road levels out take 1st right after Cottfield House (signposted B&B). Follow road round sharp left hand bend (past No Through Road sign on left) and down a steep hill. Continue uphill for about 1 mile passing several farms. DO NOT turn off this lane! If you are using satnav it may tell you to turn right at Meikle Mark or Newfield but ignore this and keep straight on. Continue uphill past Little Mark Farm. The road now becomes narrow and twisty; please drive with care as you may meet vehicles or walkers (the lane is part of the Southern Upland Way). Continue downhill crossing a small burn then the road twists uphill for a further 1/4m until you see the house on your right across the valley. The road becomes a stony track for the last 500 yards, please drive carefully. At the junction in the track before a metal gate turn right into Knockquhassen Farm and continue straight down the drive. Knockquhassen Farm is the house straight ahead of you; please drive in, parking is available in front of the house.

This notice explains how we use any personal data we collect about you. It is included here to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which came into force on May 25th 2018. These regulations replace the Data Protection Act and are there to regulate the way personal data is collected, handled and stored.

What data do we collect?

When you make a booking here we collect the name of the lead guest, their address and phone number, email address, mobile phone number, car registration number and any special requirements you have such as dietary or mobility needs. For non-UK guests we are also required to record a passport number.

We do not take credit card details; if you make a booking via they will take your credit card details but do not share them with us. If you make a payment direct to us electronically either via Paypal or BACS your card details will only be kept for as long as required to process that transaction.

How is it stored?

All the information you supply when booking is stored securely by or freetobook (for website bookings). In addition your information is recorded by us on a paper registration form and on a spreadsheet which are stored securely.

What do we do with your data?

Your information is only retained by us for the purpose of business analysis i.e. in order to determine how many people have stayed, for how long, where they came from, what the purpose of their stay was etc. This information is used only by ourselves and is never shared with any third parties, unless there is a legal requirement to do so. We will contact you in connection with your stay using phone or email but will never contact you with marketing information. You may receive contacts from either or freetobook (the system which processes our website bookings) after your stay asking you to complete a review of your stay.


Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log  information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. You can set your browser not to accept cookies.

Wi-Fi Surveillance Cameras

We have 2 Wi-Fi cameras  on the outside of the B&B covering the drive and outbuildings. We use these cameras for the security of our property, ourselves and our animals, as well as our guests and their property. The data is recorded on a secure computer within the property and is only kept for a few days until overwritten with new images. The only people to have access to this data are the property owners Liz Sutton & Neil Booth.
